As a Fire Fighter Paramedic I've experianced the exhillerating joy of saving a life with CPR.
I have seen non-medical bystanders start CPR and apply an A.E.D. using thier skills until we (E.M.S.) arrived. Thier willingness to act combined with the skills they performed truly made the differance in the patients survival.
Sadly I have also witnessed people that did not survive a Heart Attack, in most cases these patients did not have bystander CPR in progress when we arrived on seen. This tragic outcome may have been avoided if only CPR could have been strarted prior to our arrival.
